ABOUT US

Mother Earth Brewing Company was born of the passion of three business-minded brewers seeking to share the 'Love' of craft.

Mother Earth Brew Co. has and always will be a family business. It was founded in North San Diego County in 2010 by brothers Daniel & Jon Love, as well as Daniel's wife Errin Love, and Kamron and Joelle Khannakhjavani. What began as a hobby years earlier had formed into a business. Passionate about the burgeoning craft beer industry, the trio set out to create a unique brand and established themselves in the fastest growing, and most highly competitive craft beer city in the world. Originally operating out of a 2200 sq. ft. industrial space, the business grew quickly thanks to enthusiastic patrons visiting the industrial, yet inviting onsite tasting room and adjacent home brew store. With high-demand of its initial offerings, Mother Earth soon brought in additional family partners and began expanding by launching self-distribution of 22oz. bottles and kegs to stores, bars, and restaurants. Brewhouse upgrades soon followed and in 2012, Mother Earth opened a large Tap House in the historic downtown Vista district to beter serve its growing fan base.

After double-digit growth in 2014, the Vista brewery was bursting at the seams and the search for a larger facility began. Having initially looked within the local area, President and co-founder, Daniel Love, led the company to consider locations outside the state while still allowing full distribution throughout the country and in 2015 the company began development of a new, state-of-the-art 40,000 sq. ft. production facility in Nampa, Idaho located near the state capital of Boise.  A small tasting room in the brewery building lets customers sip a beer right where it’s made.  Featuring a 40 bbl multi-vessel Mueller brewhouse, and the capacity to produce over 100K bbls/yr,  “Mother Earth Nampa” went on-line in August of 2016 and through continuous upgrades and expansion rapidly became the largest brewery in the state of Idaho. As Mother Earth’s second regional headquarters, Nampa supports most of the company’s distribution growth.

Tasting rooms prove to be an integral part of the Mother Earth experience.

After the Covid-related closure of the Vista Tap House in 2020, Mother Earth ownership turned their attention toward the rapidly growing town of Boise, ID. After years of waiting for the right opportunity, Mother Earth opened its Boise Tap House in December 2021.  Just a few minutes walk from Boise State University, the Boise River Greenbelt and the Capitol, it is Boise's go-to destination for MEBC fans and craft beer lovers in the busy downtown district.

2023 - With a gap to fill in Socal, an opportunity arose to open a shared space in the original Vista location with craft beer veterans, The Lost Abbey. In early 2024, both breweries rolled up the doors to a unique concept that featured two brands in one space, bringing variety and ingenuity to a thirsty fan base we'd been missing for almost four years.

Mother Earth is now co-headquartered in Vista, and Nampa and operates three tap rooms in two states.
